Singapore National Day Parade (with Fireworks Celebration)
Highlight
Celebrating the country’s independence from Malaysia in 1965, the National Day Parade is a bombardment of fireworks, cultural extravaganzas in museums and major venues, and national pride every August. For 2008 the main celebrations were conducted at Marina Bay, and the public regaled over aerial displays from the Singapore Armed Forces and spectacular fireworks. Even after the pyrotechnics have gone out, Singaporeans continue celebrating with open-air concerts and performances in the name of relishing the coveted national freedom.
